Welcome to the EWMEA website!
A regional division of the WMEA and the MENC
…including the Northeast and Spokane Falls regions…

Greetings music educators and friends of music!

Dear Members of EWMEA,

Here is the calendar for the 2007-2008 school year. The entry forms and applications to all the festivals are included. The web site should be updated within the first two weeks of September, at which time you will be able to download the remaining entry forms for the year.

Please take note of several important details.

*Site hosts have not been found for the Vocal Jazz/Chamber Choral Festival and the Middle School Large Group Band Festival. Please look at your school's calendar and speak with your school administration about hosting one of these events. If hosts are not found in a timely manner, these events will have to be cancelled.

*Purchase Orders (POs) will no longer be accepted by EWMEA.

*Please note the earlier starting time for EWMEA General Meetings.

The EWMEA is YOUR association and is dedicated to serving the membership in advocating music in the schools and the community. In order for the EWMEA to remain a vital link in the state and national arts advocacy process, we need your voice in the regional activities. We also strongly encourage you to become a member of the state association which makes you a member of the national organization. The MENC is affiliated with other music education resources and has wonderful mailings and magazines to assist you with music education. Please communicate with your administrators and parent booster groups that this membership is not only vital but necessary for you to maintain musical excellence!

The EWMEA is divided into two regions: Spokane Falls-all District #81, Mead and private schools within those boundaries; and Northeast-all other surrounding schools. Membership for the EWMEA is $15.00 a year and will need to be paid PRIOR to participating at an EWMEA sponsored event.

Please pay your dues to MARGO DREIS @ 6221 S. Regal, Spokane 99223.

The EWMEA has maintained a proud tradition of musical excellence for many years. Your participation is valued, appreciated, and necessary to provide the community and schools with the musical education each students deserves.

Thank you!

HOW TO USE THE EWMEA WEBSITE EFFICIENTLY!

HANDBOOK *Events are listed separately.
*Middle School and High School Solo & Ensemble ENTRY forms combined---Registration forms are separate.
*Solo & Ensemble Guidelines and Director’s Checklist are a separate form.
*Accompanists are limited to FIFTEEN entries this year!
It has become increasingly difficult to format the S & E schedule to accommodate the accompanists. Several other musical organizations have an accompanist limit—we held out as long as we could!
*Concerns? Contact the EWMEA Executive Secretary, Margo Dreis-(509) 342-1559, (509) 448-8401
